For those who haven't heard, our boy Utizzle was on his first night of unaccompanied patrol the other night. At about 4AM in the morning, he pulled over a car for an improper tag light off of HWY 27. The driver, on his way from Kentucky to Miami was asked to step out of the car to inspect the taillight when he yelled to Utah to look out. Coming in at over 55MPH a car was headed right for the rear of his patrol car. Without enough time to get out of the way Utah was able to jump up just as the patrol car slammed forward underneath him smashing the car that he had pulled over and sending it flying across 27. Utah was thrown onto the hood of his patrol car and into the window shattering it. The rear window of his patrol car was blown out as was the metal cage separator that was bolted to the frame of the car. The guy who hit Utah was clearly intoxicated and after taking a breathilyzer test some 1 1/2 hours after the incident still blew at well over the legal limit. Luckly for all of us, Utah escaped with bruises and some scarring but nothing to put him in the hospital. All cars involved were totaled. Utah is hoping to get pictures of his car within the coming days which I'll post asap. Utah will be back on the job hopefully with a new ride by next week or so. We wish him well. Stay safe brother.
